Introducing…. our nonprofit, ChoiceCenter Gives!

ChoiceCenter Gives is committed to creating a world that works on a daily basis. Our mission is to empower and support veterans, underserved at-risk teens while promoting community and civic service. Providing emotional intelligence leadership skills is one of the proven ways to empower people in their personal and professional careers. Our goal is Win. Win. When we empower veterans and teens to excel in their careers and personal life, while deepening their service to the community, everyone wins.

According to the Harvard Business Review, “Studies have shown that a high emotional quotient (or EQ) boosts career success, entrepreneurial potential, leadership talent, health, relationship satisfaction, humor, and happiness. It is also the best antidote to work stress and it matters in every job — because all jobs involve dealing with people, and people with higher EQ are more rewarding to deal with.” Nearly 3,000 scientific articles have been published on EQ and a Harvard analysis of those reports found that a good training program can elevate your EQ up to 50 percent.

Not everyone has the opportunity to attend these deeply impactful trainings. One of our goals is to increase access to EQ Leadership courses to veterans like Daniel Crenshaw, a Navy Seal who was injured serving his country and medically separated from the Navy. He was searching for his next mission after the military. As a student, he had limited funds to fly to Las Vegas, find housing and cover the tuition. Through the generous support from ChoiceCenter, he was able to attend the training. Soon after, he found his calling and ran for elected office to serve his country again through political service. In November 2018, Dan was elected to represent the people of Texas’s Second Congressional District.

Part of the training includes how to raise funds for charity, where each leadership team raises between $100,000-$300,000 for nonprofits like Veterans Village, St. Judes, and Easterseals. Training people to take ownership of where they want to give back using the skills from the training to improve their community, is at the heart of ChoiceCenter’s values. When a student gives back to their community, the ripple effect expands to their family, school, community, city, the nation and ultimately, the world. Our intention is to ripple globally as we empower people locally.

We will raise scholarship funds, create and partner with community service organizations, and provide workshops to the community, expanding awareness that a small group of committed people on a mission can transform the world. ChoiceCenter Gives empowers people to find what they are passionate about so they are empowered to become leaders in giving back to the community.
